Name of Veterinary Medicine
Generic name:
Florfenicol Injection Trade Name
English name: Florfenicol Injection
Hanyu Pinyin:FubennikaoZhusheye
Main ingredients】Florfenicol
Properties]: This product is a colorless to slightly yellowish clear liquid.
Pharmacological action】Pharmacological fubennikao belongs to the amidol class of broad-spectrum antibacterial drugs, and has strong antibacterial activity against a variety of gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria and mycoplasma. Florfenicol is primarily a bacteriostatic agent that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S subunit of the ribosome. The antibacterial activity of florfenicol in vitro against many microorganisms is similar to or stronger than chloramphenicol and methylsulfonamycin. Some bacteria resistant to chloramphenicol due to acetylation, such as Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae, may still be sensitive to florfenicol. Pasteurella haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida and Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae are highly susceptible to florfenicol.
Pharmacokinetics Florfenicol is rapidly absorbed by intramuscular injection, but is absorbed slowly. Florfenicol is widely distributed in most tissues of the body. The main prodrug of florfenicol in vivo is excreted from urine, and can be used to treat urinary tract infections caused by sensitive bacteria. The half-life of intramuscular injection in pigs is 17.2 hours, with slow elimination.
Drug Interaction】①Macrolides and lincosamides have the same target as this product, both of which bind to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes, and can produce mutual antagonism when combined; ②May antagonize the bactericidal activity of penicillins or aminoglycosides, but it has not been proven in animals.
Indications】It is used for bacterial diseases in pigs and chickens caused by sensitive bacteria, such as porcine infectious pleuropneumonia, typhoid fever and paratyphoid fever caused by Salmonella. It can also be used for the treatment of chicken cholera, chicken dysentery, E. coli disease, etc.
Usage and dosage】Intramuscular injection: 20~30mg per 1kg body weight for pigs and chickens. Once every 48 hours, 2 times in a row.
Adverse reactions】①It has certain immunosuppressive effect; ②It is embryotoxic and should be used with caution during pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions] (1) Forbidden for egg-laying hens.
(2) The dose should be reduced or the interval between doses should be extended in animals with renal insufficiency.
(3) Not allowed during vaccination period or in animals with severe deficiency of immune function.
