Lincomycin is a lincosamide antibiotic and a bacteriostatic agent. Sensitive bacteria include Staphylococcus aureus (including penicillin-resistant strains), streptococcus, pneumococcus, Bacillus anthracis, Erysipelas suis, and certain mycoplasma (swine pneumonia) Mycoplasma, Mycoplasma hyorhinis, Mycoplasma swine synovium), Leptospira and anaerobic bacteria (such as Fusobacterium, Clostridium tetani, Clostridium perfringens and most actinomycetes, etc.). It mainly acts on the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome and exerts an antibacterial effect by inhibiting the elongation of the peptide chain and affecting protein synthesis.
Pharmacokinetics:
After intramuscular injection, the absorption is rapid. A single intramuscular injection of 11 mg/kg in pigs has a peak plasma concentration of 6.25 µg/ml. The plasma protein binding rate is 57% to 72%. It is widely distributed in the body, and its published volume in pigs is 2.8L/kg. It is widely distributed in various body fluids and tissues (including bones). Among them, the concentration of liver and kidney is the highest, and the concentration of tissue drugs is several times higher than that of serum during the same period. It can enter the placenta, but it is not easy to penetrate the blood-brain barrier, and it is difficult for the drug to reach an effective concentration in the cerebrospinal fluid during inflammation. It can be distributed to milk, and the concentration in milk is the same as that in plasma. Part of the drug is metabolized in the liver, and the original drug and its metabolites are excreted through bile, urine and milk. The excretion in feces is delayed for several days, so it has an inhibitory effect on sensitive intestinal microorganisms.
Drug Interaction:
(1) When combined with gentamicin, it has a synergistic effect on gram-positive bacteria such as staphylococcus and streptococcus.
(2) Combined use with aminoglycoside and peptide antibiotics may enhance the blocking effect on the nerve-muscle junction. Combined with erythromycin, it has an antagonistic effect, because the site of action is the same, and the affinity of erythromycin to the 50S subunit of bacterial ribosomes is stronger than this product.
(3) It should not be combined with antidiarrheal drugs that inhibit intestinal peristalsis and contain kaolin.
(4) There are contraindications to compatibility with kanamycin and novobiocin.
Function and Use:
Lincosamide antibiotics. It is used for Gram-positive bacterial infections, as well as for infections such as swine treponema disease and mycoplasma.
Dosage and Administration:
Intramuscular injection: one dose, per 1kg body weight, 0.033ml for pigs, once a day; 0.033ml for dogs and cats, twice a day, for 3-5 days.
Adverse Reactions:
It has neuromuscular blocking effect.
Precautions:
Intramuscular injection, administration may cause transient diarrhea or soft stools. Although it is rare, necessary measures should be taken to prevent dehydration.
